Hi! I’m two-year-old Raymond, and I’ll be the first to admit I’ve had a ruff go of it. I was thrown into a dog pack that none of us chose. Things fell apart, and we all got the boot. The good people at the shelter saw lots worth saving, and Homeward Bound gave me the chance to show what I’m actually made of. It turns out…quite a lot!
I am a people-loving, affectionate, treat-motivated boy who loves to learn and loves to move. Ask me about fetch sometime. Or walks! I am a solid, enthusiastic walker who is happiest out exploring the world with my person. I’ll be honest, squirrels and the occasional chicken have been known to catch my attention, but who can blame me, really? When the adventure is over, I am very happy to curl up close and call it a day. Don’t take my word for it…check out my video with my foster mom below!
Now, I have to come clean about one thing: other dogs and I have a complicated history. If a dog is calm and minding their own business, I can mind mine too. But a dog that’s barking and worked up? I have some feelings about that. The good people here call it being selective, and I have come a long way! I just need a dog-savvy human who knows how to give me space on leash, keep greetings calm, and keep up my training with patience and consistency. I am very treat-motivated, which means I am also very trainable. That is a win for both of us!
I’m ready for sturdy, confident people (and kids 13 and up are very welcome!) who want a loyal companion and will let me be their one and only. No cats, no other dogs, just us and a whole lot of good days ahead.
