Hi! I’m Lainey, and I’ll be honest with you. I grew up on a ranch, so I know a thing or two about wide-open spaces and keeping busy. Someone decided I wasn’t quite the right fit for their life, and while that stung a little, the good people at Homeward Bound scooped me right up. And now here I am, one-year-old, healthy as can be, and absolutely ready to find my people.

I am a people girl – through and through. The moment I meet someone new, my tail takes over. I lean in, I make eye contact, I do the whole happy golden thing, because I genuinely mean it! The people here say I’m a little nervous but very sweet, which sounds about right for someone who just arrived somewhere new. Give me a minute, and I promise I’ll warm right up.

I’m great with other dogs, too! I can play rough and rowdy or dial it back depending on who I’m with. I know how to read the room. I know “sit” and “down” already, and I’ve been told I’m the kind of girl who could pick up a lot more with a little practice. I like stuffed toys, belly rubs, and being brushed. I do pull a bit on the leash (a harness helps), and I’m still working on a few of my manners. But I’m young, and I’m willing!

I’d love a home that loves to go! Hikes, yard time, adventures, all of it. Active kids 7+ would be great playmates. Cats might be okay, too; we just haven’t completely figured that one out yet. If you’ve got energy to match mine and a couch to crash on at the end of the day, I think we are going to get along very well.
