Hi everyone! I am Kato. I am an active, two-year-old athletic boy who adores his people and spending time with you. Unfortunately, someone forgot to check with the landlord, so here I am, looking for a new home to call my own. I already come with some skills: sit, down, paw, stay, and a serious love of fetch. I am always up for a game of ball, training, and adventures, and then curling up in your lap for love. I lived in a home and have excellent house manners. I can be left alone, am house-trained, and I have never met a couch I did not immediately understand.

The rescue is a lot for me, honestly. All these dogs, all this noise… I do much better when things are calm and quiet. When I am away from all the ruckus, I am a completely different dog. Affectionate. Gentle. The kind of boy who leans into you and just wants to be close. That is the real me, I promise.

I am what they call “dog-selective” around here. It means I am very choosy about my friends and do not do well with pushy, in-your-face male dogs. So I am best as the only dog in the home. No dog parks or off-leash for me either. I like to meet potential friends slowly and on my own terms. As for cats, let’s just say we are not going to be friends! And I think human playmates ages 10 and up would be great fun.

I am looking for patient, dog-savvy people who understand that the kennel is not where I shine. Get me home, get me settled, give me a little time and a lot of love. Turns out, all I needed was a home. I cannot wait to prove it.
