Hi…it’s me, Kaida! I’m one and a half years old and one of the six beautiful dogs that Homeward Bound brought from Oregon to find a better life. We are half Golden Retriever and half Flat Coated Retriever. We lived as a pack – loved, but there were too many of us to be cared for individually. So, we learned to take care of each other. I enjoy the company of other nice dogs and may even be happier with a dog to show me the way. Coming here was quite a shock. Having my own room, grassy yards, getting regular meals, and being expected to wear a collar and walk on leash..?? I admit, I resisted. You can liken me to a beautiful, wild thoroughbred. But I am coming around to the idea that a collar and leash are a small price to pay for the possibility of a home of my own. I’m in search of people who understand the heart of a shy girl and that the best relationships grow over time with patience, trust, and love. You’ll know that this big world is all new to me, so we’ll go slowly into it together. I’m not one of those turnkey, ready-to-go dogs – but I am a deep-souled girl with an incredibly loyal heart and I’m happy to show it to you if you will show me yours.
