Hi there. I’m Hogan, and I have come a very long way for this moment, all the way from China, actually! I’m not entirely sure what to make of everything here yet. The yard, the grass, the other dogs, the sunshade flapping overhead…It’s a lot for a guy who is still learning how this whole “new life” thing works. But the good people at Homeward Bound tell me I’m going to be just fine. I believe them.
Here’s what I know for certain about myself: I am a two-year-old people dog, through and through. When a human comes my way, my tail goes straight to work, and I am absolutely delighted to meet you. I love toys – like, genuinely love them, and I’m happy to trade one for another, which I’m told is a very mature quality. I walk beautifully on a leash, gentle as can be. I’m a big boy at 76 pounds, but I move through the world with a soft, easy energy. As for training, I’ll be honest. I don’t know any commands yet. Not a single one! But I am very motivated by food, so whoever takes me home is going to find that I catch on quickly once someone shows me the way.
I’m still figuring out other dogs. I can be a little nervous when they’re too in-my-face, even the friendly ones give me pause while I’m sorting out the world. If there’s already a dog in your home, they should be calm, polite, and not the type to crowd a new guy. I don’t know anything about cats. And kids 7 and up? I think I’d do just great with them!
What I need most is an active home with patient people who understand that I’m a work in progress, and that the work is totally worth it. Give me twice-daily adventures, some good training, and time to settle in, and I will give you a dog you couldn’t have dreamed up. I’ve got so much love to give once I find my footing. How about we do it together?
