Hi! I’m Sam! I’m a three-year-old Golden boy who came to Homeward Bound when my family decided they’d run out of time for me. I’ll be honest…it stung a little. But I am not the type to dwell on it; there is way too much fun to be had for me to spend time moping! Besides, the other dogs here tell me life as a fully loved family dog.

I am, if I do say so myself, a genuinely great dog. Sweet, playful, happy to meet absolutely anyone. I have a soft mouth, I know some basics, and I will bring you a toy every single time you come to see me. I let you brush me, check my ears, touch my belly…I am an easy guy when it comes to people. And did I mention the toys? I am very, very serious about my toys.

I could use a little help is the dog department. I haven’t had much practice with the social side of canine life, so I can get a little big and intense with my feelings around other dogs.  Dog parks and off-leash free-for-alls are not my scene right now. But the good people here think that with the right guidance and some patient introductions, I have every chance of figuring it out. I just need someone willing to do the work with me. Cats are a big question mark for me, but I think older kids would be great!

I am looking for people who see my full potential and want a companion to share the whole of our lives together. I am sweet, motivated, and so ready to be somebody’s good boy.
