Kevin

Kevin is a one-year-old charmer and excellent actor who found his way to Homeward Bound under false pretenses! We love this small dog anyway! House-trained, crate-trained, but still very much puppy, he will thrive in a home with people who can complete his education and know about small dogs with big attitudes and hearts!

  • One-year-old, adorable something small dog mix!
  • Shy at first, then friendly and affectionate with people
  • Full of puppy energy, but has been learning how to channel through exercise, structure, and consistency of training
  • Learned potty outside; uses the doggy door; crate trained and sleeps through the night!
  • Good with most nice dogs; Cats Unknown; Sturdy Kids 7+ who are OK with a sometimes jumpy pup
  • Fast learning looking for people who love and appreciate small dogs!!

OK…confession. I came to Homeward Bound under false pretenses. I’m Kevin and I was lost until the animal police found me. The nice people at the shelter took a photo of just my face and said, “do your best to look like a Lab/Golden mix puppy, please.” So, I did my best impression, and it was good enough to fool the volunteers at Homeward Bound! Ha ha! I’m actually some kind of small dog mix…oh…and not a puppy…I’m one year old. Double ha ha! I’m hanging out at foster with a couple big dogs (‘cause that’s all they’ve got around here!) showing off my small dog attitude and Golden heart. They named me Kevin, but for the longest time, I thought my name was Kevin No. As in “Kevin, no!” But I have been getting some good training and I’m catching on quickly. I am happily crate-trained and will sleep through the night. I have learned that grass and yards are for potty (who knew??!). I figured out the doggy door – coolest thing ever! I was a little humpty-dumpty with the big dog who rolls his eyes but doesn’t particularly enjoy being humped by a pip squeak. Don’t worry…Homeward Bound fixed that (get it??) And when I am done running around and playing like the youngster I am, I snuggle well and give sweet kisses. I appreciate the saving my life stuff and all that, but I would really like to get with my people…the ones that understand and appreciate small dogs! And I’m going to need your help to get home ‘cause not many folks around here are searching for a little one like me. So, please put your awesome networking thumbs to work and get me shared out to the world! Just ask for Kevin…the little dog with the big golden heart!
