Hi there! I’m Leo, and I must be honest with you right from the start: I am a total people dog. Like, embarrassingly so. My previous owner didn’t have enough time for me, and I think I took it pretty hard. Here at Homeward Bound, I have been eating up every single minute of attention the good people here will give me. I am, as they say around here, a Velcro dog. I want to sit right next to you. Or on you. Whatever works, really.

I’m a one-year-old boy with a LOT of living to do! I am fetch-obsessed, and I will happily chase a ball until one of us needs a nap. I’m also a complete pushover for a good tummy rub, and I have been told I make very good eye contact when I request one.

Training? I am basically starting from scratch. I won’t lie. I know “sit,” and I’m working on leash manners, which are a little inconsistent depending on how exciting the world around me is. But I am eager, smart, and I will work hard for the right people. As for friends, I get along great with other nice dogs, and I should do fine with most kids. I haven’t met a cat yet, so I honestly couldn’t tell you how that would go, but I’m willing to give it a try!

For my heartworm prevention, I got one of those once-a-year shots. Guess what? A side effect can be weight loss. But I’ve packed on a few healthy pounds since arriving here, and I’m a small-framed guy. We’ll stick with the monthly version from now on!

What I really need is a family who will be all in with me, the way I will be all in with them. I don’t ask much…just an active home where people are around a lot and I can burn some energy, get some training, and then collapse next to someone on the couch at the end of the day. I know what a home feels like, and I am so ready to have one again. I’ll be waiting for you!
