Hi! I’m Whitney! I’m a two-year-old girl who came to Homeward Bound from a breeder. It wasn’t my choice to leave; I didn’t know any different. But the good people here tell me that’s just how my story goes, and that the next chapter is going to be the best one yet. I’m inclined to believe them.

I’ll be the first to admit I have a few things to learn. I must have been a fun mom because I am a lot like a puppy myself! I’m a jumper (I’m just so excited to meet you!), and leash manners and basic commands are pretty new territory for me. But I pick up things quickly, love to play, and when someone takes the time, and I am a very willing student. The people here will tell you I’m just a genuinely sweet girl, and honestly, I think that counts for a lot.

I’ve gotten along well with the dogs I’ve met here. I was a little shy at first, but warmed right up into the spunky, playful girl I really am. I’m mostly indifferent to cats, so they may find me tolerable. And I think kids who are old enough to help me with my shyness would make wonderful companions.

I’m looking for people who don’t mind putting in a little upfront work to help me learn what home life is all about. Training classes, house rules, patience, and a good harness for our walks… that’s really all I need to become the dog I already am on the inside. I’ve been waiting for a family of my own for a long time. Is that you? Because I am so ready.
