Hi, I’m Teddy. I’m not going to pretend I trust you right away. I don’t. I’m a big, surprising mix of Golden, Poodle, Lab and….Boxer! The nice people here tell me that means I got the brains from about four directions and the opinions to match. I notice everything. I know when you’re about to “try something” before you’ve even done it, and I will absolutely let you know how I feel about it.

Here’s the thing though, once I decide you’re mine, I am ALL IN. I’ll rest my paw on your shoulder just to make sure you’re paying attention. I’m not one of those constantly wiggling, helicopter-tailed dogs. My happy is quieter. You’ll just catch me sitting beside you, completely relaxed, and you’ll know we’re good.

I’m still working on a few things. Getting in the car used to feel like it only led to somewhere bad, so I’m taking it slow. New buildings, new people, same deal. I do best with someone who explains what’s happening before it happens. I love the rowdy girl dogs I’ve met here, but the boys and I are still figuring each other out. I’m not much for cats, but I think sturdy kids 13 and up would be fun.

I know I sound like a bit of a fussbucket. But ask anyone who’s spent real time with me, and they’ll tell you I’m worth every bit of it. I’m the kind of dog people go to bat for without a second thought once they’ve seen who I really am underneath all the individual needs. I just need someone willing to be patient long enough to find out. If you’re the type who doesn’t rush trust, I’ve got a village of friends here to tell you… I’m worth it. I’m Teddy. Ask for me.
