Pickle
Pickle’s family welcomed a new baby and, through no fault of his own, a busy one-year-old golden and a newborn turned out to be a lot to juggle. Leash-trained and full of personality, Pickle is a natural-born lap dog who just wants to get close to you and squeak every toy in the house.

- Playful young boy with typical puppy curiosity – like most young Goldens, he likes to pick things up and explore with his mouth
- Great on leash; some basic commands; not difficult to handle but very wiggly! Must be sturdy on feet
- Snuggly and affectionate; will happily crawl into your lap given the chance
- Loves stuffed toys, balls, and anything that squeaks
- Good with other nice dogs; Plays rough and rowdy; Lived with Cat but barks at unknown cats; OK Kids 5+
Hi there, I’m Pickle! I’m a one-year-old boy who lost my family through no fault of my own. A new baby came along and, well, two big changes at once turned out to be one too many. I get it. I’m still figuring some things out myself!
I’m your classic young Golden, which means I like to explore the world by picking things up. Toys, sticks, whatever catches my eye. I’m still a puppy at heart! I’m very wiggly and full of enthusiasm to meet everyone. When I’m not busy investigating, I’m an excellent walking companion on leash, and I love people and dog watching. Once someone gets down on my level, though, forget it…I’m climbing straight into your lap. I’m basically part cat that way.
I like other dogs and have enjoyed a few office mates here (I scored the best spot in the rescue!). I’ve been to play group and rocked it! I lived with a cat, but when I meet them on my walks, I lock on! So let’s just say…any kitties would have to be very dog savvy and we would require a very slow introduction. Kids? Sign me up! Just be sure they are sturdy enough for my whirly twirly self!
What I’m really looking for is a family with the time and patience to help me finish growing into my best self. Someone who won’t mind puppy-proofing a little longer and who has an endless supply of squeaky toys and balls on hand. If you’ve got a lap and a sense of humor about the occasional tornado, I think we’d make a great team!
