Hi! I’m Penny, and some of you might recognize me — I found my first family right here through Homeward Bound! Life took an unexpected turn and I found myself back, but I’m not worried. The good people here welcomed me like the old friend I am, and I am ready to do this whole “forever home” thing for a final time.

I am a happy, four-year-old girl who loves people with her whole heart. I will greet you with a full-body wag and, fair warning, I may place a paw on you just to make sure you know I’m serious about this friendship. I love a good romp with other dogs, and I go absolutely wild for soft toys. (Balls? Not really my thing. Give me a good plush squeaker any day.) One thing my friends here want you to know: I sometimes think non-food items look like snacks. I’m working on it! It just means my new family will want to keep an eye on what’s in my reach, and a slow bowl at mealtimes won’t hurt either.

I get along well with most dogs, and cats and I seem to have a live-and-let-live situation going on. Kids that can stand up to my enthusiasm? I think we’d have a blast. I know my sit, my stay, my come, and a little move called touch — and I walk nicely on leash in my harness.

Recently, I had a couple of seizures. So far, they have not been repeated at Homeward Bound. I have medication and special food to keep those things at bay. Homeward Bound will make sure my new family has everything they need for as long as needed. I don’t live life in fear of what may or may not come and I hope you don’t either. I am looking for an active family that loves getting outside and wants a joyful, people-loving girl who will love them right back with everything she has got.
