Oso

A happy, affectionate boy who enjoys the company of people who respect his need for personal space. Filled with wanderlust, he needs an adult-only household with people who are home a lot.

  • A five-year-old happy boy who is both people-loving and independent
  • Finds comfort with people who are around a lot, but who respect his need for personal space
  • Loves walks and does generally well on leash until he sees a bird; needs sturdy people
  • Good with most dogs; Cats Unlikely; Adults only – uncomfortable around children
  • Needs a secure yard and supervision when in it…he has wanderlust!

Oso was surrendered to a shelter – probably for his tendency to roam! He is a sweet boy who takes a minute to get to know you and then leans in for love using those big brown eyes to try to woo you. He likely has some type of guardian breed mixed with his Golden Retriever – thus the unauthorized walkabouts. It’s in their nature. He is playful and loving, but also independent. He wants companionship but prefers to come to you in his own time. He does not like to be cornered or confined. He very much wants his people to be around most of the time, and we recommend that he be supervised when alone in a yard. Kids are too much for him. Their rushing up, hugging, and lack of respect for his personal space make him uncomfortable. He is social with other dogs if careful introductions are made. Oso is the kind of boyfriend who will do best in an adult-only home with home bodies like him who seek quiet companionship without suffocating closeness.
