Hi everyone! I’m Mojo. Before you look at my papers and do the math, yes, I am ten years old. You’d never guess it, and I sure don’t feel or act it. My energy level seems to have skipped that memo entirely, and I am just fine with that. I was lost, and the dog police found me. Lucky for me, Homeward Bound said I was golden enough to come here.

Here’s what you need to know about me: I have a heart full of love and a personality that will keep you giggling all day. I’m a strong, affectionate, and active boy who thrives on the companionship of my people. I lean in for love, amuse with my antics, and will make it clear that all I want in life is to be your best buddy. I’m full of fun and a devoted toy guy. Capital T. Balls, squeakies, tug ropes…I am not picky, and I firmly believe that he who has the most toys wins. (I’m winning.) I will play with you, trade one toy for another, and then immediately want the first one back.

When it comes to other dogs, I’m a bit of a mixed bag. I have been happier with calm, easygoing pals. So, call me dog selective. Mostly, I just need people. Cats? They’re a mystery I haven’t solved yet. And as for kids, sturdy, older kids might do just fine, but the little ones could be overwhelmed by me, my enthusiasm for play, and my little too eager way of taking treats! Let the games begin!

I have been to foster and we found out that I settle well in the home; have great manners; leave counters alone; and love to hang out with you in the yard. I just need the right people to show me the ropes (and throw them too, because tug is my love language). I’m looking for people who are excited to exercise with me, work on my skills, reward me with good, long play sessions, and then settle in for a quiet evening. In return, I offer my heart. If that sounds like a match, I think we’d make one heck of a team. What do you say?

Notes from my fosters:
Foster 1: I took Mojo home to see how he would be in a home because he is unhappy in the kennel. Once he had some time to settle and get used to the new surroundings, he was the best boy! His house manners were excellent and my husband enjoyed having a buddy follow him while working in the yard. He carried around dog toys in the house and he did not pick up anything that wasn’t his. In the kitchen he was wonderful. He would watch what was going on but did not make any attempt to grab food or counter surf. We ate our meals in peace. At night Mojo slept on the floor in our room without a peep. I was so pleased to see him be calm in a more normal environment. We really enjoyed having him. He’s going to make someone a great companion!

Foster2: Mojo’s behavior inside the home was excellent from the start. Upon arriving, he immediately relaxed and became playful, as if he visits our place on a regular basis. Mojo’s overall ‘inside manners” have been awesome. He is also great in the backyard. Mojo doesn’t dig, bother any plants, and somehow is naturally aware of areas to stay out of such the garden planters. We never heard him bark and he completely ignored the presence of our neighbor’s dog. He loves human company and resting quietly by our sides, without being under foot. He is one of the sweetest, most affectionate, and chill dogs that we have had the privilege to care for. He is an amazingly loyal companion and has been a complete joy to foster. I can’t understand why he’s not home!
