Maggie Mae’s owners adored her but couldn’t keep pace with a big, lively Golden as they got older. This friendly, trick-savvy girl just needs a family committed to daily walks, portion control, and plenty of attention. Kids and other dogs are welcome additions to her circle.

Hi, I’m Maggie Mae. My original family loved me endlessly, but age caught up with them before it caught up with me, and keeping up with a girl my size proved to be too much. So here I am, starting a new chapter.
I’m five and a half and still plenty spirited. Every staff member, volunteer, and dog who crosses my path gets an enthusiastic greeting from me. I carry my stuffed toy everywhere like it’s precious cargo, and I already lots of obedience commands.
Other dogs and kids 7 and up are both fine by me. Cats remain a bit of a mixed bag, but I tend to get along with just about everybody I meet.
Here’s my honest situation: I’m carrying a few extra pounds and need a family who’ll commit to regular walks and skip the table scraps, however hard I beg. Help me get fit, and you’ll have a devoted, food-and-fun loving companion for life.
