Madeline
Madeline showed up on her own with no history attached, just a soft heart and a talent for melting strangers with a single look. Easygoing with other dogs, sweet with kids, and just needs a little patience while she brushes up on her leash manners.

I’m Madeline, and I’m five years old. My history before Homeward Bound is mostly guesswork. I turned up out of nowhere on a Central Valley street, no collar, no clues, not much of a past to speak of, and the world’s worst haircut. None of that seems to matter much once you meet me.
Spend a little time with me and you’ll understand why people call me a heart-stealer. I hold eye contact like it’s an art form, lean my whole self against your leg, and would rather sit shoulder to shoulder with you than chase a toy clear across the yard. I’ll fetch if you throw, but bringing it back just gives me an excuse to come find you again.
Other dogs don’t rattle me one bit, I’m easy company no matter who’s in the yard. Cats are still a bit of a question mark, so we’d want to take that slow. Kids, though? I think we’d get along famously.
My one real homework assignment is leash manners. I’m sharp and easily bribed with treats, so learning isn’t the problem, it’s remembering to slow down once something exciting catches my eye. Give me a harness, a little patience, and someone sturdy willing to practice with me, and I’ll get there.
