Hi. I’m Lynette. I may be the shy three-year-old you first meet…or I may be the playful, affectionate girl you uncover with just a little patience. You see, I spent my early days in forced mom-hood. I have nothing against puppies…it was just the lack of choice that upset me. Homeward Bound whisked me off to my foster home where I learned that dogs DO have some choice, and that people can be kind and caring. At foster, I have really come out of my shell and we all agree…it’s time to move on to my next chapter in a forever home.
I have picked up a few important things: I am house trained but when I am new in your home, you should take me out regularly until I have the schedule down pat. This was not expected of me for most of my short life. I am learning to walk well on leash and I play very well with other nice dogs. I will thrive in a quiet and calm home but you should know that I require a dog companion to help me feel comfortable and show me the way.
I don’t have a ton of those things called “commands.” The priority was on making me feel welcome and safe. But I am willing to learn much more with you by my side. I don’t know about cats. But I think kids who are old enough to understand that shy dogs are best without chaos would be great.
I am just now becoming the dog I was always meant to be and I am in search of special someone(s) who can help me with my journey. I promise, it will be well worth it!
