Louie
A fetch champion who walks politely on leash and rolls in every patch of grass he can find, three-year-old Louie wants an active family where he can be the one and only dog in the spotlight.

- Three-year-old Golden boy who lives for fetch and a good roll in the grass
- Walks nicely on leash; knows sit, shake, and fetch; may need a house-training refresher
- Needs an active home with daily exercise; escape artist when left alone outside…a secure yard and diligent humans are a must
- Must be only dog; Not yet socialized to other dogs; No dog parks; Cats Unknown; Kids 10+ OK
- Looking forward to living inside as a full member of the family
- Best with patient people who will help him build confidence around other dogs
Hi everyone! I’m Louie, a three-year-old Golden with a lot of love to give and, until recently, nobody around to give it to. My people ran short on time, and I spent my days alone in a dirt yard waiting for someone to come out and throw something. Homeward Bound has helped me put that chapter behind me, and I hear the indoor life is spectacular. Dog Beds! Air Conditioning! People! I may need a quick refresher on house manners, but I pick things up fast.
Let me describe my perfect afternoon. Somebody launches a ball, I chase it down like my life depends on it, and I trot back with my chin up and the ball held high like a trophy. I drop it at your feet, because I’m a professional, and then I stand there, tail going, until you throw it again. When we’re done, I’ll flop into the nearest patch of grass and roll around until I smell like a summer lawn. Take me for a walk and I’ll stick by your side instead of towing you down the block, and if you want to shake hands at the end of it, I’m happy to oblige. Wherever my people are is my favorite place on earth.
Now, the dog situation. Up close, other dogs make me nervous, and I’d much rather admire them from a polite distance. A barking neighbor on the other side of a fence can get me fired up, so I’m hoping to be the one and only in your home, and please skip the dog parks for me.
My dream set up? Someone who wakes up itching to get outside and doesn’t mind if a ball is involved. Someone with a pocket full of treats and a team-player attitude, ready to stand beside me when a four-legged stranger shows up and I’m not sure what to make of it. I’m braver than I look. I just want a teammate in my corner while I find my nerve. If that sounds like you, come say hi.
