Hi! I’m Kenai, and I have a type. I know that about myself. I am a devoted, affectionate, lean-into-you kind of guy, and I have decided that my forever person is a woman. I’m not apologizing for it. I’m a two-year-old Golden mix who came in on his own, and I have been well taken care of here at Homeward Bound while I wait. But I am ready. And ladies, I am looking right at you.

I am a FUN boy. Bouncy, playful, loose in a yard with the other dogs, full of play bows and good intentions. I know my sit, down, stay, come, and fetch. I walk nicely on leash. I am the kind of dog who shows up ready to have a good time and then comes home and leans against your legs like he has known you forever. That is just who I am.

Oh, and I recently discovered something called a baby pool and I have thoughts. Splashing around and then zooming the yard afterward might be the greatest thing I have ever experienced. I feel like this could be the beginning of a whole water chapter for me, and I would love the right woman to explore that with. And if you ever hand me a stuffed toy, I will carry it around like it is the most precious thing in the world. Because to me, it is.

I do best in a home with adults, and I am still figuring out cats. If a man comes into your life, that is okay; I just need to take my time with new guys and do things on my own schedule. Go slow with me and I come around. But my person? My ride or die? She is a woman, and I am going to love her with everything I have got. Every summer and every winter after that. Is that you?
