Hi people. My name is Delilah. At six years of age, after birthing and raising countless litters, I found myself dumped. Despite that, I have a loving, forgiving heart that I am anxious to share. I had a pretty sad face when I arrived, but my foster people figured out how to turn that frown upside down! I am living with another dog. We share toys, beds, and people well. I like most friendly dogs but can’t say if I ever met a cat so I’m not sure about those fuzzy things. I think human kids would be swell. I certainly know how to help them grow! Lots of things are still new to me…like dog beds, people who love on me, walks, and potty outside. I am taking them to them well – even the last one, although I have had a couple slip ups. Like puppies, just stay on top of me and take me out often. I have never had formal training, but I am easy to manage. I’m a little zig-zaggy when walking, so I will need sure-footed people who won’t be tripped up by me! When I get overwhelmed by all these things that are new to me, I tend to shut down. I’m not being stubborn or unwilling. I just need some time, patience and for you to show me it’s OK. I can also be a little insecure about being left alone. For this reason, my foster mom and I have worked on crate training. Now I know it is only for a little while.

I adore people and want desperately to be a full-fledged member of the family. This includes Poker nights, Sunday football, any chance to snuggle on the counch, and following my foster brother around. I have been accused of lacking a sense of personal space. After living a pretty solo life for so long, who can blame me? So, if you don’t want a snuggle buddy, you can stop reading now. I’m not the most energetic girl (all those puppies stole a lot of my vigor!) but I still have plenty of spunk. I walk about a mile every morning to help build up the muscles in my legs that weren’t required for so many years. I especially enjoy trips to the coffee shop to meet new humans and dogs. If you are in search of a calm, easy, social girl and companion…look no further! I’m your girl and I am ready for home!
