Hi! My name is Cygnet, and I have to tell you, I am a lot more than meets the eye.

I am only one year old and have already been a mom before someone simply abandoned me. Given the upheaval in my early life, I take a little time to settle into something new, but once I do, you will really get to see who I am. And who I am is someone who loves deeply. I will make eye contact with you from across the room just to check that you are still there. I will put my paw on your hand when I want you to know I am thinking about you. I was someone’s dog once: I am house trained, know my commands, and when I meet new people, my tail does not stop moving. People are my very favorite things.

Now, the honest part. I am a talker. I get a little loud when things feel new or uncertain, especially around new dogs at first. It is not forever, it is just me working through the jitters. Once I get comfortable, I am happy to hang out with calm dog friends just fine. I need a patient person to help me understand that the world is safe and that I do not need to announce every single thing I notice. I am working on it!

What I need most of all is someone who will meet me where I am and help me get where I am going. A secure yard, a consistent routine, and a person who finds my commentary charming. I have a feeling the right home is going to be really proud of who I become.
