Hi, I’m Conner! I’m a two-year-old boy who got lost and no one came to claim me. I’ll admit I was pretty scared when I first got here. New places can be a lot. But it didn’t take long before I figured out that people here are kind, and now I’m all in on this whole affection thing.I should warn you up front: I am a hugger. Not the polite, quick kind either. I will climb right into your lap if you let me, and honestly, even if you don’t invite me I’ll probably try anyway. I just want to be close to my people. I get excited and jump sometimes, but I stop as soon as I’m corrected, so I promise I’m listening, I just have a lot of enthusiasm to work through.

I haven’t had much training yet. I have learned ‘sit’, and that’s about it so far, so I could really use a family who’s willing to teach me the rest. I pull a bit on the leash and zig zag around while I figure out how walks are supposed to work, so a harness would help us both while I learn. I don’t really know what to do with toys yet either. I mostly just carry them around and drop them in the yard, though I’m sure I could get the hang of fetch with some practice. I even think my brush is a toy, so brushing time turns into a bit of a game, but I do let you do it.

I’m good with sturdy kids and other nice dogs. I made friends with a couple of dogs here and did great…calm sniffing, relaxed body language, the whole thing. I’ve got plenty of energy and love to burn, so I’ll do best with a family that can keep me busy and active. What I want most, though, is somewhere to belong and someone who doesn’t mind a dog who hugs first and asks questions later.
