Hi! I’m Chili! I’m told I look a little like a Golden Retriever and honestly…valid. I saw one once and decided that was the life for me. I’m a four-year-old Golden mix who got lost and no one came to claim me. I prefer to think of it as an extended solo adventure.
Now, I want to address something right up front: yes, I am small. Thirty-two pounds of pure, uncut enthusiasm. And I know what some of you are thinking: something about a lap dog, a slow morning, and a leisurely stroll around the block. Reader, I am not that dog. I do zoomies. I carry my stuffed animals around and shake them with great conviction. I bark when I get excited, which is often, because the world is extremely exciting. Life is short and I intend to live it fully.
I came in needing some leash work and a house manners refresher, which is very normal for a guy who spent some time living by his own rules. I know “sit,” and I’m genuinely eager to learn more once someone shows me the ropes. I like most dogs and am friendly and happy-go-lucky about meeting new ones. I am not, however, a cat’s best friend. We have confirmed this. And because I have the energy of a puppy who has consumed a lot of joy, I do best with kids who are 13 and up and can keep pace with me.
One thing to know about my yard situation: I am small, and I am clever, so you’ll want a secure fence with no sneaky gaps I could slip under. I’m not trying to escape, I just like to know that I could. If you’ve got an active household, a solid yard, and people who are excited about the adventure of training a happy, high-energy, stuffie-loving little nugget like me, I am absolutely your guy.
