Casper

Casper is a big, goofy Golden Doodle boy who loves people but missed out on some doggie socialization along the way. Selective, he has been able to be with dogs that he meets on his terms, but for now, he should be your one and only love bug while he works with a big and confident human on closing the gap.

Hi! I'm Casper. I am two years old and a Golden Doodle. I don't know if I was named for Casper the Friendly Ghost, but when it comes to people…that's me! Friendly, affectionate, snuggly, and fun. I am good in the home, good in the car, and LOVE to swim! What I am not so good with is other dogs…at least when we are on leash or behind barriers. I can't remember why they scare me so much, but I'm a big strong boy and I need someone equally big and confident in those situations. What's interesting is that when I have a chance to meet another dog on my terms – slow and easy – I am a different dog! Just check out the video below. Around here they call it 'socialization' – and apparently, I missed that class. It has left a big gap in my upbringing, but it's gap that can get better with time, training, and a lot of good, consistent (and kind!) leadership. I am looking for a special someone(s) to work with me on this. If you live in a place that is not filled with dogs – that's even better so we have time and space to work on this with me and hopefully adventure without too many distractions around. I love adventures…especially swim adventures! In between training sessions, I'll be your constant companion and love bug. I was at foster for a while and miss daily humans in my life. I don't miss cats…and they won't miss me! But I think I could love some big, sturdy kids if they are good about not letting the dog out the gate or door unexpectedly.
