Hi there! I’m Bentley, and I have to say, I have had quite the journey getting here! I was born in South Korea and made my way all the way across the Pacific Ocean to California for a second chance at life. To ensure it’s a really good life, Homeward Bound had me complete what will likely be the first of two hip surgeries. I powered through rehab like a total superstar. Down the road, I may need surgery on my other hip, but for now, I am cleared, recovered, and ready to roll. If or when I do need another surgery…Homeward Bound has got me…and you covered. They will make sure I get the care I need.
I am a young, exuberant boy with a lot of love to give and energy to burn! I am friendly, affectionate, and genuinely excited about everything: people, smells, toys, treats, you name it. Fair warning: I am VERY excited about treats. Watch your fingers. I am working on my manners, and I know Sit and Down, and I have mastered a figure 8 in recovery! This shows that I am a quick learner. I am a bouncy boy, so the bigger and sturdier you are, the better. I’m not trying to knock you over, I just can’t always contain my enthusiasm!
I have made quite a few dog friends here and am a play group rock star! My style is a little rough and rowdy, so I do best with dogs who can match my energy or gently show me how to dial it back. Cats and I probably aren’t the best match. But I think kids 10 or older who are up for some adventure would be really great companions for me!
I’m looking for an active home with people who know dogs and are ready to invest in training, exercise, and consistency. Between you and me, my best human friends are women. I can be worried about some men until I get to know them. (If you came from where I did, you would understand why.) One small thing worth knowing: while I can run and play at my own pace, I’m not a great candidate as a running buddy or for a third-floor walk-up. But when it comes to day-to-day play – I’m just like your average dog dude.
I’ve done my time, and all I need now is the right family to grow into. Is that yours? I’m so ready for the next adventure, and I hope it starts with you!
