Alright…let’s get the ski and snorkel goggle jokes out of the way! I’m Barney, and no…I don’t have a bad tan…it’s just the adorable white markings on my Golden face that make me such a handsome and distinctive guy! I am eight years young and lost my family when my girl went to college and no one else wanted to care for me. Maybe it’s just as well, because I lived my whole life outside, hadn’t seen the vet, and never knew what a dog brush was! Homeward Bound has addressed all of these and more, and I am learning what is expected of a house-living dog. I hear it involves a dog bed, dry warmth and coolness when it’s cold or hot and wet outside, and people who really truly want you around. That sounds awesome to me! I’ll work hard to catch up if you will guide me. I’m an active boy who loves to play. Give me a basket of stuffies, and I can make my own fun all day! Or give me some kids and a tug rope, and let’s have at it! Don’t be fooled by my age. I am a boy built for fun! I missed any formal training, but I walk pretty well on leash and greet people with a happy, wagging tail. I don’t know about cats…never lived with one. But I think older, sturdy kids would be awesome. And while I can walk nicely past or be around other polite dogs, I really don’t care to live with one. Don’t worry…I’m more than enough dog to love all by myself!
