Albert

Albert is a big, goofy Golden mix puppy who adores every person he meets, is house trained, and struts on leash like a pro. He will thrive with patient people and maybe a fun dog pal to share the adventure.

  • Big, goofy Golden mix puppy who is a friend to everyone he meets
  • Loves people of all ages; walks nicely on leash and greets dogs and strangers politely
  • House trained, and easy on yards, toys, and furniture
  • Gets worried about his food around other dogs, but has made huge strides at foster. Meals, treats, and chews need to be served apart from other dogs
  • Plays well with dogs when food is not involved; loves a playmate who doesn’t need to be the boss, or can be great as an only dog; Cats Maybe; Kids 7+

Hi everyone! I’m Albert! I’m a big, lanky Golden mix puppy, almost five months old, with the most unique markings, hanging out in my foster home. My start was a little shaky, but I’ve been getting my paws under me ever since. Now my days are all about the important stuff, like chasing butterflies around the backyard as if they owe me money. Dragonflies are fair game, too.

I’m the guy who makes friends with everybody. Big people, small people, men, women, I’m happy to play with the whole crowd! I’m house trained, I leave the yard and the toys in one piece, and I’m pretty darn good on a leash. My afternoon walk after dinner is the best part of my day, and I say hello to every dog and human we pass.

My foster home has a lot of dog friends, and I get along with the whole gang. I happily let the bossier dogs run the show, but I’d love a playmate who doesn’t need to be in charge. I’m also perfectly happy being your one and only and just having a social dog circle. I might be OK with cats with a slow intro…and I think kids 7 and up would be swell.

Now for the honest part. Food makes me nervous. I worry that my dinner might get taken, and for a while I stood guard at the doors to the rooms where the food lives. I’ve mostly retired from that job! My foster serves my meals in a different room now, and I’m learning that there will always be enough. I still have my moments, though. If another dog wanders near my bowl, I might give a little growl, just me saying ‘mine, please!’ Dogs are my favorite playmates as long as food isn’t part of the game, so I’ll need my meals, treats, and chews served in my own space. I’m getting better all the time. I even sit nicely and wait my turn for dessert without a peep.

I’m looking for patient, dog-smart people who will keep up my mealtime routine and show me that good things always come to those who wait, and don’t mind a big puppy who still has some growing up to do. I promise to bring the wiggles, the zoomies, and a whole lot of heart. What do you say?? I’m ready to start the best chapter today!
