Ace

Two-year-old Ace missed out on some training fundamentals. He seeks experienced dog people who see through the ruff, puppy exterior to the loving and devoted adventure buddy inside. Add training, consistency, and love to channel this busy boy into his best self.

  • Young, active, and fun-loving, two-year-old Ace is in search of good mentors who can channel his puppy-like energy into awesomeness
  • Busy and needs training 101; Strong and can be jumpy and mouthy
  • Needs experienced dog people; regular exercise; consistency and care
  • Good with dogs and lived with one, but needs his people’s full attention for now; Maybe OK with a Cat; Sturdy Kids 12+ who will follow through on training
  • A busy boy who can also melt in your lap once his zoomies are out; seeks people who see through to his full potential as an awesome adventure buddy

Hi everyone! I’m Ace, a two-year-old golden with a grown-up body and the manners of a teenager who never got the rulebook. Nobody ever sat me down for Training 101, so I went looking for entertainment on my own, and it turns out a busy guy can find plenty. Homeward Bound is helping me turn the page.

I am interested in everything, all at once. A tennis ball is the greatest invention ever, and I play fetch till I drop. I greet new friends with a happy tail wag and, I confess, both front paws, because nobody explained that hellos work better from the floor. I take treats gently most of the time, I know how to sit, and I am working on my leash skills. Once my zoomies are spent, I will melt into your lap like I invented cuddling.

I’m friendly with other dogs. I met a yard buddy here and we spent the afternoon sniffing around and rolling in the grass like old pals. I have lived with a dog before, so a four-legged roommate might suit me well, as long as you have plenty of attention left over for me too. Cats? We haven’t been properly introduced yet and I think sturdy kids 12 and up who are ready to help with training would make terrific teammates.

I’m looking for experienced dog people with time, a sense of humor, and a love of daily adventures. Give me exercise, consistency, and a patient teacher, and I will repay you with a whole lot of devotion.
