Hi everyone! I’m Sugar, a three-year-old Golden girl, and the first chapter of my story is missing. Somebody offered me up on social media and a kind stranger scooped me up before I fell into the wrong hands. Homeward Bound took it from there. I can’t tell you where I’ve been, but I know exactly where I’m headed: straight toward you, tail going a mile a minute.

I’m what you’d call a professional greeter. Every person is my new favorite person, at least until the next one walks in. I’ll lean on your legs, flop over for belly scratches, and hold perfectly still while you brush me, peek in my ears, or count my teeth. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve too: sit, down, stay, and come are all in my repertoire. House manners? Got ‘em! Leash walking is where I’m still a student. I get so excited about what’s ahead that I tow you toward it, so I’d love a teacher who can show me the adventure is even better when we go together. And if you hand me a stuffed animal, prepare to witness true love. I’ll parade it around like a trophy but happily trade it for a shinier one. Treats and toys come and go in my world, and I never mind sharing.

As for my social calendar, other dogs barely make my radar. I’ll glance their way and carry on with my day. Cats are a total mystery to me, so we’ll need a proper introduction. A little bit older kids are welcome in my fan club.

I’m not picky about experience. If you’re new to dogs, I’ll be a gentle first teacher. If you’ve been around the block, I’ll be a joy to polish. Mostly I need someone with a little patience for my leash skills and a lot of room on the couch. Ready to meet your new favorite greeter? I’ll be waiting by the door!
