Tahoe is a big, goofy love bug who would rather stage a dramatic sit in than be led somewhere he doesn’t want to go. At the heart of it, he just wants to be near his people, always. Give him company and consistency, and he will give you his whole heart.

Hi there, I’m Tahoe. I’m an eight year old golden guy, big in size and even bigger in personality. I’ve been told I’m pretty funny, and I think that’s fair, because I have a real flair for the dramatic. Mostly, though, I just want attention. Lots of it. All day, every day, please.

Here’s the thing about me: if you try to take me somewhere I don’t want to go, like back into a kennel, I will flop right down on the ground and refuse to budge. No amount of coaxing works, only really good treats can talk me into getting back up. It probably sounds stubborn, but honestly it comes from a soft place. I love being around people so much that I have a hard time when I’m left on my own, and my old family mentioned I struggled with that too. I’m not trying to be difficult. I just don’t want to be away from you.

The good news is I already know how to sit, stay, lie down and stay, and shake. I just need a little refresher. I do best with someone around for most of the day rather than a house that’s empty from nine to five, and I really want to get out on the town for some walks. I think I would be great with most kids (10+), and I love meeting new dogs, though I can get a little pushy with younger or shyer pups, so I do best when I’m the main dog getting the attention. Cats are not really my thing, so a cat free household is a must for me.

If you’re looking for a big, devoted companion who will follow you from room to room and love you with everything he’s got, I might just be your guy. I promise the flopping is rare once I know I’m home for good.
