Hi, I’m Loki! I’m an eight-month-old puppy, part Golden and part German Shepherd with the best of both breeds. Some people think I look like a flat-coated retriever, but the DNA science tells a more interesting story.

I didn’t do anything wrong to end up here. My family went through a divorce and a tough housing situation and finding me a new home was the only way to keep me safe and cared for. My dad was heartbroken to let me go. I miss him, but I’m ready to pour all that love into a new family now.

Everyone says I’m surprisingly well-behaved for a puppy my age. I was well raised. I love people, I wag my whole body when I meet someone new, and fetch is basically my favorite sport. I’ll chase that ball as many times as you’ll throw it and bring it right back to your feet. I do great with most dogs, too. I love to play, I take breaks when I need them, and even when an older dog gets a little pushy with me, I know how to back off and keep the peace instead of starting anything. I’m still working on my manners around little kids though, so I do best with families whose children are a bit older.

I know my basic commands like sit, down, and shake, but I could use a refresher and some patient training to help me build a real bond with my new person. I’m still a puppy after all, so I’ve got plenty of energy and I need a family who can keep me busy and active.

If you’ve got room in your home and your heart for a goofy, loving young dog who just wants to learn and play, I would love to meet you.
