Paige showed up as a scared stray with her sister Payton by her side. She’s done living in her sister’s shadow and has mastered the pleading eyes which mean extra pets and love. She might be a mystery mix on paper, but she’s golden at heart, and she warms up quickly if you show her your heart.

Hi, I’m Paige! I’m a seven-month-old girl who showed up as a stray at a shelter along with my mom, my sister Payton, and a few other siblings. Nobody’s totally sure who my dad was. My mom is a Great Pyrenees, and for the rest…your guess is as good as mine! I was scared when I first arrived, but having Payton by my side made everything feel a little less overwhelming.

I’m what you’d call a watcher. Before I jump in paws first, I like to take a beat and figure out what’s going on around me. Once I decide you’re safe, though, I’m all in. I love pets, I lean into every scratch, and I’m getting less shy every single day. I don’t know any commands yet, but I have already mastered Sit, and I’m smart enough to pick up the rest fast. On the leash, I do pretty well, just a little darty and unsure sometimes, but I take correction easily and I’m improving all the time.

I get along well with most dogs, though I do best when I can ease in with a calm, gentle playmate before diving into a big group. I think kids would be great, and I haven’t met a cat yet, so we’ll have to see. One thing my people should know: I am not the best about sharing my food and sometimes, my toys with other dogs. That can happen when you come from a big stray family. I will need to be fed separately and work on my manners.

What I really need is an active family who won’t mind teaching me the basics I missed out on, plus a secure yard, since I’ve been known to sneak past a fence when alone and bored too long in the yard. I promise I’m a fast learner and worth every bit of patience. If you’ve got room for a thoughtful girl who’s golden at heart and just wants to figure out this whole being a dog thing with you by her side, I think we’d be a great match.
