Hi, I’m Stella! I’ll be honest, I was a slow burn when I first got here. New places take some getting used to, and I like to watch and wait before I decide you are worthy of my full trust. But go slow and you’ll see the real me: a smart, snuggly four-year-old girl who already knows to sit, down, and shake, comes with excellent house manners, and who would honestly be thrilled to follow you around the house or be at your feet as your home office buddy.

I’ve got some spring in my step and I mean that literally. I was known to exit the yard when I got bored and lonely. I need a home with a secure yard and people who won’t leave me to my own devices outside. Give me the exercise and structure I need, and I’ll be a very happy, very tired girl by the end of the day with no reason to roam.

I’m choosy about my dog friends and do best without other dogs in the home, or with careful, slow introductions handled by experienced folks. I haven’t had a chance to prove myself with cats yet, and I think any kids should be a bit older and understand the heart of a shy dog. What I really want and need is your full attention. I was outside, alone, too much. Once I trust you, I’ll place my paw right on your arm to remind you it’s time for chest rubs, and I promise it works every time.
