- Friendly, food-motivated, fun-loving but shy at first two-year-old doodle boy
- Affectionate and gentle; leans in for ear scratches; rolls over for belly rubs; loves being brushed
- No obedience training yet, but smart, eager to please, and walks well on leash
- Good with most dogs; Cats Unknown; Kids 3+
- Looking for an active family with a little patience while he works up his nerve with new people
Hi! I’m two-year-old Pancho, and I have to tell you… I am a whole new man. I came into Homeward Bound looking a little rough around the edges. Check out my “before!” Matted coat, itchy skin, filthy coat…the works. But the good people here got me a makeover, and honestly? I cannot stop looking at myself. New hair, new attitude, new lease on life!
Now that I’m comfortable in my own skin again, I’m pretty easy to read: I love people. Like… genuinely love them. I will walk right up to you, lean into your hand, and make it very clear that ear scratches are my love language. I am soft as a cloud — soft coat, soft mouth, soft heart. I take treats gently even when I’m excited (which I usually am!), I roll over for belly rubs, and I think being brushed is basically a spa treatment. I’m not big on fetch but give me a stuffed toy and I will absolutely romp around with it on my own. I’m a pretty easy-going boy as long as I’ve got people nearby.
I should mention: I can be a little slow to warm up when I first meet someone. Big, looming humans make me take a step back, but I’ll just need a moment to check you out and make sure you’re my kind of person. But once I do? I’m in. Happy tail, loose wiggles, the whole thing. The folks here say I started out a little hesitant and now I’m the one walking up to new people first. I’m proud of that! I get along well with other dogs too. I’m loose and social and I don’t hold a grudge even if another dog is rude to me. Kids and I should probably get along just fine, and I walked right past a cat named Kermit without so much as a second glance.
What I’m really hoping for is a family who likes to do things — hikes, walks, adventures — but also doesn’t mind that I haven’t had any obedience training yet. I promise I’m a quick study. I’m food motivated, I want to please, and I already walk great on leash. I just need someone willing to teach me the good stuff. If that sounds like you, I’d love to meet you. I’ve got a lot of love to give and a lot of ear-scratch real estate available. What do you say?
