Hi! My name is Player, and I promise you, I am exactly as fun as I sound.

I came all the way from China for a second chance at life, and I have to say, the journey was worth it. I have been to foster, and I was a big hit. House trained, good in the car, and walking beautifully on leash, I showed up ready. At only one year old, I know my commands (sit, stay, down, shake, come) and while I am still perfecting them, I pick things up quickly, especially when treats are involved. I have been told I am extremely food-motivated, which my people say is a good thing. I agree.

Here is what I am about: fetch, friends, and being wherever you are. I will bring the ball back every single time. I love a good stuffie scamper around the yard. I am rough and rowdy in the best possible way with dog friends who can keep up, and I settled in beautifully with my foster sister. Kids? I have not officially met any, but my foster family said they could picture me running around the yard with little ones, and I think they know me pretty well at this point. Cats are still a bit of a mystery to me. I met one and it looked at me and I decided I needed to be somewhere else. We are a work in progress.

The honest truth is that I need my people close, and I do best when there is a canine companion in the mix, too. A dog friend keeps me grounded, gives me someone to play with, and helps me feel settled when the day gets quiet. I am working hard on being brave when I am on my own, but a home where someone is around most of the time is where I am going to shine brightest while we work together on building my confidence. I have so much love to give and so many balls to fetch. Are you ready to receive?
