Hi, I’m Brady! A was a loved boy but a new family member came along and turned out to be allergic to me, so here I am. It’s not the ending I expected, but I’m a resilient guy and the good people at Homeward Bound have taken excellent care of me. Now I’m looking for my forever family through Homeward Bound’s Permanent Foster Program.
Here’s what I need you to know about me: I am a five-year-old people dog, completely and totally. I will follow you from room to room, greet every stranger like an old friend, and be stationed at the car door every single time you pick up your keys. (I love a car ride. I settle in within minutes. I’m basically the perfect co-pilot.) I also have a hobby: I collect things. The grooming brush, a sock, whatever catches my eye. Nothing gets chewed or damaged; I just like to have a little pile of treasures nearby. I know Sit, Down, and Give Paw, and I’m genuinely up for learning more.
Other dogs and I don’t really get along, so I would need to be your one and only. I just need a little extra room on our walks when other dogs are nearby. I find cats sort of interesting; I might want to play with one, so introductions would need to go slowly. Kids 13 and up are welcome company and a lot of fun for a fun guy!.
Now, about my health. I’ve been through a few things, and I won’t pretend otherwise. I had a condition called IMHA when I first arrived at Homeward Bound, and I came through it. More recently I was diagnosed with something called Masticatory Myositis, which affects the muscles I use to chew. I take daily prednisone to manage it, and it works, but the medication means I’m hungrier and thirstier than your average golden and I need more frequent potty trips. My family just needs to keep my water bowl full, watch that I’m eating comfortably, and a doggy door would be awesome! I also can’t receive vaccines due to a previous reaction, which means boarding and dog parks aren’t part of my life.
Here’s the really important part: Homeward Bound covers my medical costs for life through their Permanent Foster Program. Your job is just to love me, walk me twice a day, and give me the calm, people-filled home I’ve always wanted. I promise to give you everything I’ve got in return.
