Hi! I’m Kenai, and I’ve been doing a little roaming in my day, but I think I’ve finally found the place worth sticking around for. Someone found me out on my own and brought me here, and the people at Homeward Bound have been taking really good care of me while I wait for what comes next. I’m a two-year-old Golden/Great Pyrenees mix, and I have to tell you…what comes next looks a lot like you!

I am a FUN boy. Bouncy, playful, loose in a yard. I come in with a play bow and the best of intentions and I just kind of let the good times roll from there. I’ve been getting to know some of the other dogs here and I’m learning to channel my big puppy energy in all the right directions. I know my sit, down, stay, come, and fetch. I’m a quick study and I love showing off what I know. I also walk nicely on leash, so adventures are very much on the table.

Oh, and I recently discovered something called a baby pool and I have thoughts. Splashing around and then zooming the yard afterward might be the greatest thing I have ever experienced. I feel like this could be the beginning of a whole water chapter for me, and I would love someone to explore that with. And if you ever hand me a stuffed toy, I want you to know I will carry it around like it is the most precious thing in the world. Because to me, it is.

I am snuggly and affectionate with the people I trust. I reflect the confidence of the people I believe in so I need dog-skilled folks to guide me. Cats are an unknown for me, and I think older kids and up who are ready to match my energy would be fantastic. I came in on my own, but I am not meant to be a solo act. I am meant to be someone’s dog! The kind who makes every summer feel like the best one yet and sticks around for all the winters, too. If that sounds like your kind of story, I’d really love to be in it.
