Hi people. My name is Doug and I’m please to meet you. I am two years old and one of the many dogs that find themselves lost in the Central Valley. Thank goodness for the kind person who found me. They got me to the shelter and they got me here…at Homeward Bound. I went home briefly. My house manners are good, and I am a very nice boy – but we found out that while I’m afraid of the giant cat at Homeward Bound, I have a tendency to chase others. So, cats are out for me. I am playful and exuberant and need older, sturdy kids while we work on that thing they call “four on the floor!” I need lots of daily activity…running mate anyone? And I will need help filling in some training gaps, but I am very willing to learn. I am very social and get along well with other nice dogs. One of those might help me get my zoomies out, too! It’s true that I’m not a real Golden Retriever – but everyone will tell you I have a golden heart. I would be very happy to share it and a life of adventure with you!
