Hello people! I am the baby here at Homeward Bound at only eight months old. My name is Acorn and I am, as you can see, a Golden doodle boy! My mom is in the service and she got deployed to a place she cannot take me. It was heartbreaking for both of us, but she wants me to have a stable and loving home. I am grateful for her care and for giving me a good start in life. I am super friendly and affectionate. I like other nice dogs almost as much as people. I think kids would be great fun! They can grow up with me! I have good house manners and know some basic commands but my education is not complete. I need more help on leash walking – and until I get it – you need to be sturdy on your feet! I’m not that big compared to some of the other dogs here, but I am an expert puller! One other thing…the volunteers here have nicknamed me “Hoover.” It’s because I want to taste everything left on the ground or floor! So, I need a clean and tidy household and backyard (that means kids who pick up their toys!). I love to play fetch and throw around my stuffy. I’m a happy boy who is always eager to meet new people (OK…sometimes too eager…but that’s a growing up thing!).
