Marty

Marty is a big, handsome boy with an emphasis on big! Diet and exercise will return his playful energy, while training to work on sharing will complete his otherwise excellent manners!

  • Affectionate, good-natured boy
  • House trained; good basic training skills but can pull on leash
  • Has decided he doesn’t like sharing his toys; needs training on “leave it” and trades
  • OK with nice dogs who don’t care about toys; Has lived with a cat; Kids 13+ OK
  • Playful and people-loving; will be more playful after sticking to his diet and exercise program!

OK…yeah…I blew it for me and my sibling from another mother (Piper) to go home together. Truth be told, I got a little taste of independence and decided I kind of like it! I am five years old and a good-natured boy with a must-stick-to diet plan! There’s a lot of me to love but the dog doc says I could be just as loving after dropping a couple (dozen!) pounds! No cookies for me, no tabletop jokes…and lots of short walks, please. I have good house manners and basic training skills. I enjoy the company of other nice dogs, kids, and maybe even a cat, but what I have decided is that I no longer want to share my toys. I love them. So, if I go home with another dog, they must not want or care about my toys, and if I have kids, they have to be older to work with me on learning how to “leave it” and trade. With all my extra love handles, I can sometimes pull on the leash so I need sturdy people who won’t be pulled down if I get get going too fast. Other than the toy thing, I am a very loving, affectionate boy. So let’s work on that together. What do you say?? I’m ready to strike out on my own!
