Hi all. My name is Dobby. I am a four-and-a-half year old typical people-loving Golden with a loyal heart and goofy, affectionate personality. I was a loved family dog until my family’s life got turned upside down. Now, I’m at Homeward Bound in search of a new family to love. I am crate and house-trained, know basic commands, and am highly motivated to learn new things if food or play are involved – especially fetch and belly rubs! In the home, I am a Velcro boy – always by your side as your trusted, sweet, and loyal companion. As a puppy, I missed out on some important socialization, so my previous people and the people here have been working hard on that. I also missed out on that neutering thing…but Homeward Bound has taken care of that! My reaction to other dogs depends so much on the other dog(s) around me. I generally walk well on leash, have lived with a calm, senior dog, and have even met some nice, calm girl dogs that I get along with here. I am inexperienced and both fearful and curious. It’s the dogs that trash talk or give me side eye that scare me most. I know I am supposed to turn the other cheek, but it’s hard sometimes! On that, I am still a work in progress focused on building my confidence. For now, the people here think I would be best as your one and only while we work to complete my lesson plan. I lived with a baby and think that older kids would be swell (babies aren’t very good at fetch or belly rubs!).  Sorry…I don’t know for sure about cats, but my previous people said probably not. I’m a boy with a lot of love to give and bond tightly with my family. I’m hoping that’s you!
