If you know anything about young, untrained Labrador Retrievers…you know all about me! Hi, I’m Lola. I am only one year old and found myself with a very busy family that had no time for me. I lived outside with the two other dogs, both smaller. They didn’t appreciate my puppy energy. Dad was gone most of the time; mom had the kids to manage. No one appreciated my puppy energy! I’m a Lab. And I am young. That means I can make a great family dog, but you have to put in the effort. Out of boredom, I learned to swim and loved hopping in the pool. I made my own fun by digging, and I discovered that I am a frustrated hunting dog by stalking ducks. (No ducks or small critters for me.) I love to play fetch, but I don’t know a thing about retrieving. I am crate-trained, know a couple of commands, and can walk pretty respectably on leash with a harness. I’m kind of inexperienced with other dogs and don’t always know what they are thinking. A patient, tolerant dog might be OK for me, or, for now, maybe your sole focus. I have lots to catch up on. One thing for sure: no cats (they fall in that small critter category), but older kids who would play with me and help train me would be great! In summary: I’m a big puppy with the people-loving heart of a loyal Labrador in need of schooling who dreams of being a full-fledged family member and hopeful adventurer. If you’ll put in the time, I promise that I will too!
