  • Friendly, bouncy, and exuberant but can settle in quickly
  • People-loving and petite
  • Lived in a home; good house manners and walks well on leash
  • Best as only dog in the home unless other dog is extremely tolerant; Cats unknown; Kids 10+ OK
  • Starved for attention and in search of love!

Hi. I’m Duke. The Dukester! At three years of age, my people realized that I deserved a family that could devote more time and attention to me. They asked Homeward Bound to help and here I am! I’m a petite boy…under 40 pounds…but big on tail-wagging friendliness. I have been a little starved for love, so I am in search of the real deal: people who not only have time but interest in filling my days with training and playing until we all go to bed exhausted! I have good house manners and walk well on leash. I can be very excited when I first greet you with puppy-like manners (jumpy and mouthy!). But I settle in quickly. They say that us Doodles don’t even start growing up until we are three…perfect timing! When it comes to other dogs, I’m a little choosy and I tend to greet them with the same puppy-like behaviors that I have learned are not always welcome! So, if I live with another dog, they’ll have to be very tolerant and patient. I don’t know about cats but sign me up for some kids who are old enough to help with continuing my education. More than anything, I want to be a full-fledged member of a loving family.
