Hi. My name is Duke. I am only one-year-old, but came to Homeward Bound when my people could not figure me out. It’s kind of simple: I want to be with my people…all the time! I have learned that this is not the best quality, but I am very young to feel this way. We’re not sure why I am so insecure without my people, but I promise to dedicate myself to working on it if you will work with me too. The nice people here will help you with training tips and tools. For now, I need people that are home, have time to devote to daily activity and training, and I should not be left alone in the yard because I will go searching for you! Am I worth the effort?? You betcha! I am a happy boy, fun-loving, affectionate, and sweet. I love to play, am fantastic with kids, and have lived with a kitty, too. I like other dogs very much and everyone here thinks that having a calm dog to mentor me and make me feel secure would be a huge help. I have good house manners, and know several commands including how to play fetch and “leave!” the ball. I have all the makings of a perfect dog…I just need a little help getting over my one hurdle.
