  • Reactive – needs to be only dog in the home; Cats Unknown; Kids 13+ OK
  • Dealt a bum hand; ready to put it behind her and grateful for a second chance at happiness

I’m Maple, and I’m a little embarrassed to say that someone dumped me at a Jack in the Box. How humiliating. I’m only three years old and not some side of French fries that you can take or leave! I thought they made a mistake, so I hung around that fast food place for a week or more until a Good Samaritan took me home. She said I was a sweet and easy girl in the home, but the home was already full so she asked if Homeward Bound could help me. Lucky for me, they said ‘yes.’ I was a mama once, but no more. I walk well on leash and have a few basic skills. I absolutely love belly rubs and meeting new people. I enjoy meeting new people and am friendly and affectionate. I’m just not a great fan of other dogs. Maybe that explains the swollen face and scuff marks I arrived with. Those things are fixed, but my appreciation for other dogs is not, so I do need to be your one and only. Other than that, I am an easy girl who asks for little: a soft bed inside a home, some daily exercise, a caring heart, and people who promise never to throw me away again.
