Pet Guardianship: Securing your Golden’s Future
Entrust your dog’s care to Homeward Bound when you and your loved ones cannot be there for them.
Planning for and securing your pet’s future is something that every responsible pet owner should consider. If you don’t have a family member, neighbor, or friend who agrees today to care for your Golden/Golden Mix in case you no longer can, Homeward Bound is here for you. Securing your Golden’s future by entrusting its care to Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue in this event brings peace of mind.
We ask that you take the following steps when including Homeward Bound in your planning:
- Thoroughly complete a Biography Form for each animal and keep a copy with your will. Designate a friend, relative, neighbor, or executor of your estate to bring your pet to Homeward Bound if necessary.
- Specify the following in your will or trust: If your pet is to be entrusted to Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue at your death, you may wish to write the statement: “At the time of my death, I give my pet(s) to the Homeward Bound Golden Retriever adoption program.”
Homeward Bound does not require a minimum gift in order for us to take your pets into our adoption program, but we do ask that you consider naming us as a beneficiary to cover our expenses as we work to find a new home for your pet(s).
You may wish to write the statement: “I give and bequeath to Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc., a corporation organized and existing under the California Nonprofit Corporation Law, located at 7495 Natomas Road, Elverta, CA 95626, Tax ID #68-0442702 the sum of $____ .”
If possible, please notify us of your intention so we have a record of this important information on file.
Please know that we at Homeward Bound will do everything in our power to ensure that your beloved pet(s) find loving home(s). Our adoption staff will make decisions in their best interest. If you have dogs that have lived together in the home that you wish to be re-homed together, we will make every attempt to grant your wish but this is not something that can be guaranteed.
